Free Listen and/or Download: The song Anamorphic but without the female vocalist in the chorus. Personally, I prefer it over the one on the album but you decide. In any case, the whole song for free. Just click here or on the song title above or scroll below to have a look at the video at the bottom of this page.

This album was recorded in its entirety in my 1 bedroom apartment in Vancouver. Over a period of 9 months, the 3 of us created a great collection of new songs. Ron would come down on extended weekend from the interior of BC to spend some time with me recording his parts. I worked at Pinewood Studios at the time so between making this album and working, I didn't get a lot of sleep!

There was one night where I figured that I did not have to be at work until 10am so Ron and I stayed up until 3am finishing as many parts as we could. I figured that I'd get about 6 hours of sleep in before I pulled a 12 hour shift. Well, as fate would have it, I got a call around 4am from the night shift guy that a machine crucial to transferring bit the big one. So I arrived at Pinewood around 4:30am. I got to go home that day after midnight.

Another funny moment (well, funny now) is when I was working away in my studio, it's around 2am, and I needed to hear a sound. So I was monitoring through my big speakers. Let's describe the speakers: They weighed over 300lbs. They were top of the line JBL's with dual 15" woofers, a 12", a 5", and a bullet horn. The most amazing speaker I've ever heard! They also could sustain a nominal level of 1600W each. SO anyway, it's after 2am and I needed to hear a faint sound. My speakers were on and turned up fairly loud, I pushed the button on my computer, then immediately pushed a button on my mixer board and voila...the loudest 20hz tone heard in this building ever! I', sure that you could not only hear this tone, but feel every wall and painting vibrate for a few floors up and down (I lived on the 6th floor). Needles to say I turned the volume down very quickly but boy did I feel bad for everyone in that building.

The sacrifices we musicians do for our love or our art at times can be ridiculous. But it's all worth it in the end.

The Video of Anamorphic

Right after the making of this album, Halloween was right around the corner. So I decided to make a short video for MuchMusic as they air halloween specific videos on that day. Well, I came up with this song and clip. Please keep in mind that I shot this video by myself, edited it, starred in it, produced it, directed it, recorded it, just did everything in it and about it!

Halloween

I've not put this song on any CD but your welcome to listen to it on YouTube!

You can have a listen to the song that never made it on the Insomnia CD.
